13 September 2024

JAKARTA, investor.id – PT Mandiri Capital Indonesia (MCI) is collaborating with Saison International and Saison Capital to strengthen the fintech startup ecosystem in Indonesia.

CEO of Mandiri Capital Indonesia Ronald Simorangkir said that currently a strong synergy is needed between financial institutions and fintech startups that continue to grow. Along with the development of the global fintech industry, there has been significant disruption in various sectors, from banking to investment.

"This is where the important role of regulation and innovation must be balanced. We at MCI are committed to facilitating partnerships that enable collaboration between fintech and banks, in order to create inclusive and sustainable financial solutions," said Ronald in a press release quoted on Friday (13/9/2024).

One of Mandiri Capital Indonesia's efforts to strengthen the fintech startup ecosystem in the country is to collaborate with Saison International and Saison Capital to hold a fintech conference entitled 'On The Axis: Reinventing Finance'.

"Attended by industry players, regulators, corporate leaders, investors, and startups, this conference emphasizes the importance of synergy between banking institutions and fintech startups that continue to grow," explained Ronald.

Saison International and Saison Capital are part of Credit Saison, one of the largest non-bank financial institutions in Japan with a history of over 70 years, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Saison International CEO Kosuke Mori added that although the Indonesian financial industry is very dynamic and continues to grow, one thing is certain, there is huge growth potential. He explained that Saison International has been present in Indonesia since 2015, and is here for the long term.

"For us, encouraging collaboration across the financial ecosystem and working together to foster strong partnerships is key to unlocking this potential and supporting the development of a more inclusive, accessible, and resilient financial ecosystem in Indonesia," he explained.

With digital transformation accelerating change in the financial sector, collaboration between fintech startups, banking institutions, and regulators is key to maintaining stability while encouraging continuous innovation.

The conference will cover a variety of key topics, including the latest developments in fintech, strategic partnerships between financial institutions and startups, strategies for effective collaboration, and efforts to build a strong future of fintech partnerships.

The event is designed to be a platform for in-depth discussions on the fintech ecosystem, challenges and success stories of collaboration between financial institutions and startups, and effective strategies to build a more resilient and robust financial ecosystem.

In addition, the event will also explore the potential of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, open banking, and innovative approaches to bridging the financial gap across Asia.
