IDXChannel - PT Mandiri Capital Indonesia (MCI) was selected by the Ministry of SOEs of the Republic of Indonesia to participate in Relawan Bakti BUMN 2024 Batch VI in 2024.

"We hope that our volunteer friends can implement the AKHLAK core values with a higher purpose after participating in the service program in Hilisimaetano Village for the last 5 days. The implementation of the AKHLAK core values in daily business processes is expected to help improve the quality of BUMN company performance, which in the end BUMN can contribute more to the Indonesian people," said Director of Finance, HR & Risk Management MCI Wisnu Setiadi in a release on Wednesday (8/21/2024).

Hilisimaetano Tourism Village is known as one of the leading tourist destinations with rich natural and cultural beauty. This village has a tradition of stone jumping attractions that were once one of the backgrounds on the thousand rupiah currency issued in 1992. Relawan Bakti BUMN 2024 Program is an Employee Volunteering Program for BUMN employees with the aim of increasing the role of BUMN as an Agent of Development, implementing AKHLAK values, and increasing employee engagement through direct involvement in the Social & Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program.

The 10 BUMN Young Volunteers assigned to South Nias came from various BUMNs such as Bank Mandiri, BNI, BSI, BTN, Pertamina, PLN, PGN, Jamkrindo, Askrindo, and Pegadaian. The 10 Young Volunteers also played an active role in social activities, ranging from education, waste management, health, to improving local infrastructure. The presence of the volunteers is expected to have a positive impact on the village community.

As a form of support for improving the quality of education in Hilisimaetano Village, MCI collaborated with Cakap, an Indonesian startup developing technology education applications that focuses on two-way online education. Through this collaboration, MCI provides 100 free English learning vouchers for three months for the local community and distributes English modules for Tourism with the hope that this initiative can open up new opportunities for villagers in facing global challenges in the digital era.

"This program is an opportunity for MCI to invite startups in our portfolio to contribute directly to the community, especially in Hilisimaetano Village, a village with extraordinary local history and culture. We want to show that the technology solutions offered by startups are not only relevant in the market, but also able to provide access and opportunities to improve the quality of life of the community," said Wisnu.
